OSU HEALTH DAY & CERA LAUNCH

Where Culture, Clinical Care & Community Emergency Response Assistant Converge

Osu becomes the launch point of a transformative public health movement.

The day begins with community-based health screenings and stroke prevention education across Osu Market and surrounding neighborhoods. Participants will receive chronic disease screenings, clinic support, and practical health education designed to reduce hypertension, diabetes, and stroke risk.

In partnership with the Ghana National Ambulance Service, Police MTTD, and the Ghana Motorcycle Association, the afternoon marks the official launch of the Community Emergency Response Assistants (CERA) – Riders for Life Initiative.

Motorcycle riders and commercial drivers will receive structured basic emergency response training focused on:

• Stroke recognition (BEFAST)
• Helmet advocacy & TBI prevention
• Scene safety
• Basic first aid

VOLTA REGION IMPACT DAY

Clinical Outreach. Community Empowerment. Sustainable Change.

The mission continues in the Volta Region with a comprehensive rural health activation.

This regionally coordinated Impact Day integrates:

• Blood pressure and glucose screenings
• Stroke awareness training
• Nutrition education using local foods
• Hygiene kit distribution
• Nurse and clinic engagement for continuity of care

Community members leave not only screened—but equipped to recognize stroke symptoms, manage chronic disease risk, and strengthen emergency readiness within their families.
