The Ghana Health & Humanitarian Mission is the flagship international initiative of Impact World Health and Humanitarian Foundation. Launched in Greater Accra (Osu) and the Volta Region, the mission integrates chronic disease prevention, emergency readiness training, and frontline health system partnership through a structured 360° health model.

Prevention

Community health fairs provide:

  • Blood pressure and glucose screening

  • BMI assessment

  • Stroke risk education (BEFAST)

  • Men’s and women’s health education

  • Social determinants of health assessment

Participants receive health passports and referral guidance where needed.

Community Emergency Response Assistants (CERA)

Through the Riders for Life Initiative, motorcyclists and taxi drivers are trained as Community Emergency Response Assistants (CERA).

Transport operators are often first at the scene of accidents and medical emergencies. The CERA program equips them with basic, structured skills in:

  • Scene safety

  • Bleeding control

  • Fracture stabilization

  • Stroke recognition

  • Safe patient positioning

  • Emergency handover to hospitals

The guiding message:

You Are the Help Until Help Arrives.”

This initiative promotes both emergency readiness and road safety accountability.

The mission also supports health facilities through essential medical supply donations and collaborative engagement with ambulance services and hospitals to improve emergency coordination.

A Scalable Model

The Ghana pilot is designed to expand across regions and include broader transport networks, building a culture of preparedness and responsible response.

By combining prevention, recognition, and response, the Ghana Health & Humanitarian Mission strengthens communities before crisis strikes.
